suehiro mauro is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator whose work is characteristically extremely violent, sexual, disturbing, and cryptic. his style is categorized as "ero-guro" which basically means "erotic grotesque." it is really hard to obtain his work outside of Japan, but mauro has a huge cult following nonetheless. I've been a huge anime fan since I first saw the Miyazaki film "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" when I was very young.

Watching that as a kid sparked something inside me that has made me a seriously rabid anime fiend (among all other things Japanese) ever since . Miyazaki's films are all truly beautiful, I feel sorry for anybody who hasn't given them a chance simply because they're anime (a title that has been given a bad reputation through crap like Naruto and Digimon. I fully admit that the first couple seasons of Pokemon are rad though ^_^)

But I also have a soft spot for anime on the complete opposide side of the spectrum; the super-gory-xxx-rated-limbs-hacked-off-ghoulish-demonic-horror-filled kind.
